At ADHD Malta, we believe that every person deserves to thrive.<\/span><\/p>

We are a non-profit, legally registered organisation (VO 0041)\u00a0 dedicated to supporting individuals and families living with ADHD across Malta and Gozo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Our committee \/ board members are either adult ADHDers, or parents of children with ADHD, or both – this makes ADHD Malta also a DPO (Disabled People\u2019s Organisation).<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

ADHD Malta brings together parents, individuals with ADHD, educators and other professionals to <\/span>advocate for better understanding, early diagnosis, and equal opportunities<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

OUR MISSION: To support, empower, educate and encourage anyone dealing with ADHD and related conditions and to\u00a0 encourage self advocacy.<\/strong><\/p>

We seek to work with all professionals such as educators in schools, healthcare providers, social workers, youth workers, mental health service providers, government entities, other NGOs\u00a0 and society at large to spread research-based information on ADHD and its coexisting conditions (e.g., dyslexia, dyspraxia, Autism, anxiety, PDA, ODD, depression. We seek to empower ADHDers and their families with psychoeducation and tools to be able to self advocate.<\/span><\/p>

OUR BEGINNINGS:<\/strong> In 1996<\/b> a group of parents of young ADHD teens <\/span>seeking guidance <\/b>to help their children <\/span>joined forces to obtain more information about ADHD,<\/b> mainly from America and <\/span>the<\/b> UK.\u00a0 <\/span>In 1998 <\/b>they decided to <\/span>formally<\/b> set up <\/span>the<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>ADHD Family Support Group <\/b>NGO and were registered as VO 41. In this way, they were able to share their knowledge with other parents, and to educate and sensitise\u00a0 professionals about ADHD across the lifespan.<\/span><\/p>

Over the years, as research increased and knowledge on ADHD developed further,\u00a0 the NGO began assisting and supporting more and more\u00a0 adult ADHDers. Services in Malta for adults are still emerging, so we try to offer\u00a0 guidance, psychoeducation and a safe space.\u00a0 As awareness continues to spread, more people are seeking\u00a0 a diagnosis and request guidance on diagnosis, treatment options, the use of medication and strategies that help. We do not offer medical advice, but instead offer expertise gained through years of lived experience, education\u00a0 and sound research.<\/span><\/p>

Now known as ADHD Malta<\/strong>, we still\u00a0 seek\u00a0 to be a sound point of reference to anyone needing more information and support related to ADHD.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
